At Aroma Group of Companies, sustainability is not merely a business initiative—it is a long-term commitment embedded into every aspect of our operations. As a responsible food manufacturing organization serving millions of consumers, we recognize our responsibility towards environmental stewardship, renewable energy adoption, water conservation, and sustainable resource management.
Our sustainability strategy focuses on reducing environmental impact, improving resource efficiency, supporting climate resilience, and creating long-term value for farmers, consumers, employees, and future generations.
Guided by the principles of Environmental Responsibility, Resource Conservation, Renewable Energy, Circular Economy, and Sustainable Agriculture, Aroma Group continues to invest in world-class infrastructure and green technologies that contribute to a cleaner and greener future.
Renewable Energy Commitment
15 MW Solar Power Plant – Karur District, Tamil Nadu
As part of our commitment to clean energy and carbon footprint reduction, Aroma Group has established a 15 MW Solar Power Plant in Karur District, Tamil Nadu.
This large-scale renewable energy project represents a significant step towards energy independence and sustainable manufacturing operations.
Key Highlights
✔ Installed Capacity: 15 Megawatts (MW)
✔ Location: Karur District, Tamil Nadu
✔ Source: 100% Renewable Solar Energy
✔ Supports Green Manufacturing Operations
✔ Reduces Dependence on Conventional Fossil Fuel-Based Power
✔ Contributes to Carbon Emission Reduction
✔ Supports India’s Renewable Energy and Net-Zero Goals
Environmental Impact
The solar power facility generates clean electricity by harnessing the abundant solar radiation available in Tamil Nadu, helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with conventional power generation.
Benefits of the Solar Project
Carbon Footprint Reduction
The solar plant significantly reduces dependence on coal-based electricity, thereby lowering carbon emissions generated through industrial operations.
Renewable Energy Utilization
A substantial portion of the organization’s energy requirements is supported through renewable energy sources, promoting sustainable industrial growth.
Energy Security
The solar facility ensures stable and reliable power availability while reducing exposure to fluctuations in conventional energy markets.
Climate Change Mitigation
By adopting solar energy at a large scale, Aroma Group actively contributes towards climate action and environmental sustainability.
Green Manufacturing
Renewable energy integration supports the production of food products using environmentally responsible manufacturing practices.
Water Sustainability Circular Water Management
250 MT per Day Wastewater Treatment Plant
Water is one of the most valuable natural resources in food manufacturing. Aroma Group has invested in advanced wastewater treatment infrastructure to ensure responsible water management and conservation.
The organization operates a 250 Metric Ton per Day (MT/day) Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) designed to treat and recycle wastewater generated from manufacturing operations.
Treatment Capacity
✔ 250 MT per Day
✔ Advanced Chemical, Biological and Physical Treatment Processes
✔ Continuous Monitoring and Quality Control
✔ Environmentally Compliant Operations
✔ Water Recovery and Reuse System
Advanced Water Recycling Through Reverse Osmosis (RO)
To maximize water recovery and minimize freshwater consumption, treated water undergoes an additional purification process through a Reverse Osmosis (RO) System.
The RO-treated water achieves high-quality standards suitable for various non-potable reuse applications e.g. gardening at the lands at around the plant.
Water Recovery Objectives
✔ Reduction in Freshwater Consumption
✔ Efficient Water Recycling
✔ Resource Conservation
✔ Sustainable Water Utilization
✔ Environmental Protection
30 Acres of Green Landscape Development
Sustainable Gardening through Recycled Water
The treated and RO-purified water is effectively utilized for maintaining and nurturing approximately 30 acres of landscaped green areas and gardens surrounding operational facilities.
This initiative demonstrates the practical implementation of circular water economy principles where wastewater is transformed into a valuable resource.
Scope of Green Development
✔ 30 Acres of Landscaped Green Zones
✔ Tree Plantation Programs
✔ Biodiversity Enhancement
✔ Green Belt Development
✔ Soil Conservation
✔ Microclimate Improvement
✔ Dust Control and Air Quality Enhancement
Environmental Benefits of Green Belt Development
Carbon Sequestration
Extensive plantation and green belt development help absorb atmospheric carbon dioxide and contribute to climate resilience.
Biodiversity Support
The green ecosystem supports local flora and fauna, promoting ecological balance around industrial operations.
Air Quality Improvement
Trees and vegetation naturally improve air quality by capturing dust particles and releasing oxygen.
Heat Island Reduction
The green landscape helps reduce surrounding temperatures and creates a healthier environment for employees and visitors.
Groundwater Recharge Support
Sustainable irrigation practices support soil moisture retention and contribute to environmental conservation.
